Education Programs

HAPI EDUCATION PROGRAM

We offer homebuyer education as a service to educate the public as well as a requirement for receiving a HAPI Grant or Silent Second Mortgage.  Aberdeen classes are held once a month, on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6-9 pm for a total of 6 hours.  Sisseton classes run from 10 am to 4 pm in a one-day format, once a month.   Classes are held on an as-needed basis throughout the HAPI service area, when possible.

We help you understand the different assistance programs available in this area. We strive to cover grey areas of home-buying and home-ownership as well as answer questions and allow time for group discussion.

To register for Homebuyer Education please call (605) 225-4274 or email rachel@homesarepossible.org with your name, address, and phone number.  Our educator will contact you before the class.

The education program is presently funded by Homeownership Education Resource Organization (HERO). HERO is currently partnered with the South Dakota Housing Development Authority, the Citigroup Foundation and Fannie Mae.
